Dr. Christopher Rickards
Dr. Chris Rickards was born and raised in Hudson, Quebec along with his two brothers: Dr. Michael Rickards, (E. M. T. Specialist in Flagstaff, Arizona) and Dr. Robin Rickards, (Orthopedic Surgeon in White Rock, BC). Following his graduation from McGill University, Dr. Rickards made his way across Canada to Prince George to begin practicing dentistry and has resided here ever since.
Dr. Rickards is very active in Continuing Education and takes many hours of courses each year. As a result of this, Dr. Rickards has begun to be the lecturer rather than the attendee. His special interest in Esthetics, Porcelain and Composite bonded restorations, and TMJ (jaw joint) disorders have taken the office to a new level of dentistry and given him the ability to share his knowledge with others in the dental community.
Dr. Rickards is a member of the "American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry" and the newly founded "Canadian Academy for Esthetic Dentistry". Every year the "American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry" holds their annual conference in difference locations around the world. When attending, Dr. Rickards shares his experience in Practice Management and obtains further knowledge in Cosmetic Dentistry from Specialists who practice in such places as New York and Beverly Hills.
Dr. Rickards has taken extensive courses about the Temporomandibular Joint or TMJ; which have taken him to the "Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study" in St. Petersburg, Florida. There he studied under Dr. Peter Dawson, National and International lecturer and author of Evaluation, Diagnosis and Treatment of Occlusal Problems. This knowledge about the jaw joint works hand-in-hand with General Dentistry as well as with Cosmetic Dentistry.
In addition to his love for dentistry, Dr. Rickards enjoys many outdoor activities; such as golfing, photography, water sports and downhill skiing. His latest interest has been learning to speak Spanish.
